50th ANNIVERSARY BATON HIKES

The Bruce Trail will be 50 years old this year! To help celebrate our 50th Anniversary, the BTC has been relaying a ceremonial 50th Anniversary baton along the entire length of the Trail, travelling from Niagara to Tobermory. The baton has now passed through 8 Clubs, with almost 500 different volunteers helping to carry it part of the way!

On May 27, the baton was passed from Sydenham Club to Peninsula Club, in Wiarton, and will now continue its journey to the northern terminus cairn in Tobermory by June 10, marking the 50th Anniversary of the official opening of the Bruce Trail.

Once the baton reaches Tobermory on Sat. June 10, the BTC will celebrate with a special outdoor 50th Anniversary Celebration at the northern cairn, followed by lunch, hikes and more!

All volunteers who carry the baton for at least 2 km will get this special new badge.
